Role
Contract: Inside IR35
Reading: Full time site based role - 11 shifts on, 3 shifts off
Main Purpose:
The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for the control and supervision of the Electrical Control & Instrumentation installation on a high-profile site. The role involves ensuring that all electrical installation and maintenance activities are properly supervised and compliant with relevant safety and regulatory standards. The position also includes specific tasks as required by the electrical function.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Minimum ONC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent through an approved apprenticeship (City & Guilds).
Certification:
o NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or related field.
o IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 (17th Edition trained, 18th Edition desirable).
o IOSH Managing Safely certification.
o Valid CSCS/ECS Card in the appropriate discipline (mandatory).
o Site Supervisor Safety Training Course (SSTSC).
o NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Construction Site Supervision.
Experience:
o Minimum of 10 years in electrical work, with at least 5 years in a Foreman/Supervisor role.
o At least 3 years of on-site experience, preferably within the Nuclear Industry or Power Generation sector.
o Strong background in site installation and maintenance, with the ability to interpret and work to electrical diagrams and cable cards.
o Experience in highly regulated industries is preferred.
o Must have or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC) for on-site work.
Skills:
o Excellent understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations and IEE Regulations (BS7671).
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
o Ability to liaise effectively between designers, engineers, and site personnel.
o Proven leadership skills, with the ability to set an example in Health and Safety practices.
